How does your setting affect your story’s mood? Mason Carr

Well in a way the setting makes the mood happy. Because the setting is inside a store. If you are inside a store you have all the supplies you need. Like water, food, and a lot more. If you were someone outside it would be a lot harder to survive. But in other hands the mood is sad because of the hail storm and the smoke. This is sad because both of these things can kill you. Which makes it terrifying for the kids because they don’t know if there parents are alive or not. I don’t think anyone would want to be in their situation.
